Tom Sikes created Hospitality Merchandising in 1988 to assist clients with development and purchasing of Operating Supplies & Equipment. He joined forces with Higgins Purchasing to develop an OSE division. Work included W Hotels and such iconic projects as the Grand Wailea Resort, the St. Regis Monarch Beach and The Montage, Laguna Beach. He was instrumental in the creation of Boxport, which was a fresh, new form of hotel retailing. In 2007, Mr. Sikes re-started Hospitality Merchandising with a focus on OSE.
Sue Waivada joined Hospitality Merchandising as a partner in August 2012. Ms. Waivada’s FFE, corporate purchasing and development experience came via Nikko Hotels Int'l and Accor North America. A move to Hong Kong in 2005 for the Wynn Macau project expanded her international experience. Other notable projects include Sofitels of North America, Thunder Valley Casino Resort, UCLA Rieber Hall and various Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants.
